Location: Knox Commons
Facilitated by: Cindy Hamad (chamad@knox.org)

DESCRIPTION:

Seasoning Lent is a program that uses the 40 days of Lent to help us focus on our spiritual health, enhance our nutritional health and improve our physical health.

Please consider joining me through Lent. We can meet weekly, discuss a topic for the week that will offer spiritual reflection, a week’s worth of healthy recipes you can try and a physical activity to work on for the week. Weather permitting, we can also try a walk together each week.

Lent is usually a time where we “give up” but consider the idea of also “taking up”. Seasoning Lent will help us take up healthy habits and give up some of the unhealthy ones.

No material is needed. A small book with 40 days of recipes and reflection will be provided.

"One of the most important theologians of the twentieth century illuminates the relationship between ourselves and the teachings of Jesus. What can the call to discipleship, the adherence to the word of Jesus, mean today? What did Jesus mean to say to us? What is his will for us today? Drawing on the Sermon on the Mount, Dietrich Bonhoeffer answers these timeless questions by providing a seminal reading of the dichotomy between 'cheap grace' and 'costly grace.'"

She is well-known for her podcast Everything Happens. There is a lot to explore at her website: https://katebowler.com/.
